Calming scents

Stress and tension are major problems in today’s society and using calming essential oils to relieve their symptoms is one of the major functions of aromatherapy. However, it is not always possible to go for an aromatherapy massage or take a bath with essential oils when you feel stressed out, but calming mood scents can easily be carried in a handbag or pocket and applied when needed.
Stress and tension can easily lead to frustration and even anger if you don’t deal with them as and when they arise. All negative emotions are unhealthy and should be calmed as soon as possible. The timely application of a soothing mood scent, and remembering to sniff it frequently in the first

few minutes, can release aggravation before it escalates.
One of the most soothing essential oils is frankincense, which actively slows down the breathing process and enables you to take long, deep breaths to calm you down. Lavender is another classic calming favourite, as well as roman chamomile, neroli, marjoram, ylang ylang, clary sage, sandalwood, rose otto, rose absolute, angelica and melissa.
